Microsoft is expected to make a new user interface tablet PCs and the new UI will be optimized for other mobile devices later. The current Windows Phone 7 will not available for tablet PCs but Windows Phone 8 will be made to work on smartphone and tablets both.
The Windows Phone 8 will be based on Windows 8 and optimized for mobile devices. Microsoft will add an UI designed specifically for handsets on it to make it suitable for mobiles. Windows 8 has been long rumored to come with support for tablet PCs, and from here to having the next version of the mobile OS based on it was a simple step to be made, it seems.
Both Windows CE and Windows Phone 7 will be for very short time here in mobile and than new Windows Phone 8 based on new platform will take place. It will work for both Tablets and smartphones, as they are very similar in many aspects. For exp the Android 3 is specially optimized for Tablets and there is no need to make a new fresh OS for them. Similarly Windows 8 OS which will designed for desktop PCs can be used in laptops, notebooks etc.
The currently reports for Windows 8 hint that it would come with a tile-based user interface codenamed Mosh, which would be the alternative UI, destined for tablet. The upcoming Windows Phone 8 is also expected to run Silverlight or XNA-based applications. Lets wait and watch for availability of Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8. Until we can just enjoy in deep of all rumors.
